High quality plate drilling cutting processor for Scottish steel fabricator

Aktualisiert am: 11.07.2013 15:57
Structural steel fabrication and erection contractor J&D Pierce Contracts Ltd from Scotland got more and more applications from customers for drilled holes in steel connection plates. They did market research to find the best possible production solution and eventually invested in the comprehensive plate drilling and cutting processor from Voortman, the V330S.

This machine features drilling and cutting processes with their own moving gantry and their own process table which means that the raw plates remain idle on both tables. Drilling and cutting operations are executed simultaneously, which brings almost a double production capacity compared to other plate cutting and drilling systems. An implicit Voortman condition on top of this split method is the self regulating mode of operation in between the processes with a no-touch total process course as the primary goal.

Managing Directors Jim en Dereck Pierce: The main reason we purchased the machine was that no one offered such a flexible and high productive machine. The drilling and cutting operations are done simultaneously and drilled plates are transported to the cutting gantry by powerful magnets, so there is no need for manual intervention. High speed carbide drilling, countersinking and thread tapping as well as high speed plasma and oxy-fuel cutting is a major advantage of the machine!
